WATCH LIVE: Meteorologist Mia Montgomery gives an update on overnight rain chances

After a foggy and drizzly start to Thanksgiving Day with showers and a few thunderstorms, a widespread chance for rain arrives on Black Friday with on-and-off rain expected throughout the majority of the day.

Here’s what you need to know before heading out to snag any deals ahead of the weekend:

Friday

Rainy … meaningful rain … helpful rain is expected to push across South Central Texas
Widespread rain varying in intensity throughout the day, with the highest coverage expected in the afternoon and evening hours
Up to 1?-2? possible in some locations by Friday night
Windy: NE 10-20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph
Cooler with temperatures cooling into the mid 50s by the afternoon

We’ll need to watch for ponding on the sides of roadways along with a few minor flooding issues in poor drainage/low-lying areas and common trouble spots before the day is done.

Rain chances increase throughout the day Friday

Saturday

A few lingering spotty showers possible first thing in the morning (mainly east of SA) before we clear things out completely
A healthy west breeze, gusting upwards of 25-30 mph at times
Clearing skies throughout the day, leading to more sunshine
Highs in the 60s

Sunday

A pleasant day expected with chilly morning lows in the 40s followed by afternoon highs in the 70s
Sunny skies
Minimal breeze — making for a great day to set up the outdoor Christmas decorations!

A rainy day is in the works Friday before the sunshine returns this weekend
