Waco (FOX 44/KWKT) — Strong and severe storms are moving across Central Texas at this time.
The National Weather System has issued a Tornado Warning for Bell, Falls, and Milam Counties that will stay in effect until 7:15 p.m.
FOX 44 Chief Meteorologist Mike LaPoint and Meteorologist Zavian Colon are tracking the storms live on FOX 44 on air and online.
The NWS Storm Prediction Center earlier issued a Tornado Watch for portions of Northern and Central Texas until 8:00 p.m. that includes most of Central Texas.
Primary threats include a couple tornadoes, possible scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 4 inches in diameter likely, scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 80 mph possible.
The National Weather Service says thunderstorms will rapidly intensify in a very moist and unstable air mass. Very large hail and damaging winds are the main threat, although a few tornadoes are also expected.
A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
