To say Nancy Mace triggered CNN on Friday would be an understatement. Total mayhem broke out on the liberal network after the South Carolina congresswoman “mispronounced” Kamala Harris’ name during a round table segment.

Michael Eric Dyson and Keith Boykin took the lead in white-knighting for Harris, repeatedly trying to “correct” Mace as she was making policy points completely unrelated to their crusade. It was an embarrassing show of just how shallow and unserious the national press is.

If the above clip is a bit long for you, here’s one of the meltdowns that occurred.
You’ll have to forgive me for not transcribing that cluster. It’s almost impossible to get it right when people start shouting over someone as happened here with Mace. But for those that can’t watch the video, Dyson and Boykin lose their minds, claiming that the congresswoman is mispronouncing Harris’ name “on purpose.” It’s an insane reaction to what was, at best, a slight variation in pronunciation.
In the above clip, the difference comes down to saying “Comma-la” or “Ca-ma-la.” Who cares? How is that something worthy freaking out over on live television? Harris’ name is Indian in origin. To an English speaker, it is awkward to pronounce her name the way she pronounces it, much less remember exactly which letters to accentuate within the actual phonetics. Even if someone “corrects” another on the matter, it would take a while to get it right every time.

This is dumb even for the “everything is racist” crowd. I get that people like Dyson and Boykin make a living off pushing racial grievance, but come on. Democrats call Republicans fascists and they have about 25 different variations of Trump’s name they use in a derogatory manner. I think not quite getting Harris’ name right is just a little bit less serious.
America has real problems. Is anyone who is living paycheck-to-paycheck concerned with how Mace says Kamala Harris’ name? I’ve never seen Dyson or Boykin get upset about inflation, but let someone not put the proper sauce on the first “a” in Harris’ name and they go nuclear. It shows just how out-of-touch the press is. They are hung up on irrelevancy backed by double standards while normal people are rolling their eyes.
