For the first time in our great state’s history, we have the votes in the Texas House to pass a universal school choice program. Texas is on the verge of becoming the nation’s leader in education freedom!
We should not allow our lives to be defined by the challenges we face, but instead by the way we respond to these challenges. Empowering parents with the ability to choose their child’s education is a fight I am determined to win!
That’s why, last year, I endorsed conservatives across the state who are strong advocates for school choice. Their leadership in the Texas Legislature has been critical to getting us to this historic point.
This also wouldn’t have been possible without your support, Friend, and your dedication has not gone unnoticed.
This is a remarkable achievement for the countless parents, students, and educators across Texas who have long fought for expanding educational opportunities in Texas.
School choice will provide every Texas family – regardless of their zip code, demographic, or socioeconomic background – the freedom to choose the learning environment that best fits the needs of their child.
As your Governor, I will continue to work hand-in-hand with members of the Texas Legislature to ensure this bill gets to my desk where it will be swiftly signed into law, making history as the biggest launch of ANY universal school choice program in the nation.

Hi, this is Greg Abbott. Whether you were born in Texas, moved here yesterday, or are following along from afar, I’m glad you’re here.
If you didn’t know, a tree fell on me while I was out jogging in my 20s and left me paralyzed from the waist down. Supported by my family and faith, I pulled through that difficult time and recognized life is defined not by the challenges we face, but by how we respond to those challenges.

My job as Governor of Texas is to defend the values that keep Texas #1! We are off to a great start.
Since I became Governor, Texas has added more than 2 million new jobs. We’re home to over 3 million small businesses that employ nearly half of all working Texans, and we’re #1 for Fortune 500 company headquarters. We’re also #1 for economic development, exports, and jobs created by Black business owners, Hispanic women business owners, and veteran women business owners.
In Texas, everyone can succeed.
My wife Cecilia, the first Hispanic First Lady of Texas, our daughter, Audrey, and I – plus our three Golden Retrievers, Peaches, Pancake, and Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit – love this great state and are proud to call it home. My life is defined by public service, and I’m honored to continue to serve as your Governor.
