The FAA issued a ground stop amid dense fog at Dallas Love Field Airport Thursday. At DFW Airport, the FAA issued a ground delay, lasting up to 2 hours.
DALLAS — Dense fog and thunderstorms rolling through the metroplex have made a busy travel day more chaotic.
Dallas Love Field airport is at a ground stop from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. An advisory posted by the FAA lists the likelihood of the ground stop extending for a longer period of time as “high.”
Dallas International Airport is also experiencing a ground stop until 11 a.m. The FAA lists the likelihood of an extension as “medium.” Currently, the average delay is listed as 30 to 131 minutes long, and increasing.
According to Flight Aware, DFW International leads the U.S. in flight cancellations and delays. As of 9:30 a.m., there have been 185 delays and 204 cancellations within, into, or out of the airport. American Airlines makes up for the majority of the delayed and canceled flights.
