Whata-wedding? More like ‘Wittaburger’ wedding! DFW native, Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has Whataburger themed reception

Whataburger played a special part of their love story as high school sweethearts.

DALLAS — The Witts had some Wittaburgers for their Texas-sized wedding.

High school sweethearts Bobby Witt Jr., the Kansas City Royals star shortstop and DFW native, and Maggie Black tied the knot at the Thompson Hotel in Dallas, with People Magazine getting an exclusive look at the happy couple’s special day.

The Witts are high school sweethearts and included a very Texas aspect to their wedding: A makeshift Whataburger store built inside the hotel with Whataburger catered for the reception. One hundred people built the replica restaurant. They included Whataburger in their special day because the Texas fast food giant plays a sentimental part of their love story – as they used to hang out at their local Whataburger after baseball and football games while dating in high school.

Witt, who went to Colleyville Heritage High School before getting drafted No. 2 overall in the 2019 MLB Draft, also has a partnership with the brand.

Whataburger posted a video showing the process of building it all and the party that ensued

“’WITTABURGER’” has a good ring to it, the post said in part.

Indeed it does. And congrats to the Witts!
