Texas officials are searching for a missing woman who was last seen at her home on Sunday.
Melonie Ballenger, 46, was last seen at her home in Wylie at around 10 p.m. Officials said that Ballenger did not take a vehicle or a phone when she left.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue “CLEAR” Alert for Ballenger.
Her husband, Daniel Ballenger, told CBS News Texas that he went to bed with Melonie on Sunday, but when he woke up on Monday, she was gone.
“She left with nothing,” Daniel Ballenger said.
He said she left behind medications she needs to take for her health. Melonie Ballenger was scheduled to have heart surgery in a few weeks.
Daniel and Melonie Ballenger have two young children.
“I love her. I hope she’s safe and her daughters [are] missing her and we just want her back. Please come home,” Daniel Ballenger told WFAA.
Officials said they searched the area with assistance from K9 search dogs and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter, but they were unable to find Melonie Ballenger. Searches are continuing in the area as detectives follow up on leads.
The Wylie Police Department is asking for the public’s help as the search effort continues. Residents in the area are being asked to review their outdoor camera footage between the hours of 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Monday.
Melonie Ballenger is described as 5-foot-7 and weighing around 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. The clothing she was wearing when she left the house is unknown.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wylie Police Department Detective Rachel Pollard at 972-429-8014.
“Wylie Police would like to thank the community for the outpouring of support as we search for Melonie,” the police department said on Facebook.
Daniel Ballenger also urged anyone with information to contact police.
“If you see her, please, please, please call Wylie Police Department, so we can get her back,” he said.
Hundreds gathered at Gateway Community Church on Tuesday for a vigil for Melonie Ballenger. The family is part of the church’s congregation.
“Everybody’s really concerned about her,” pastor Blake Switzer told CBS News.
