Texas A&M (41-8, 16-8 SEC) finished the midweek schedule with its best finish since the 2015 season, reaching 25-0 against nonconference opponents while further providing just how dominant the Aggies can be heading into the postseason if the chips fall in place, and the roster stays as healthy as possible.
However, after losing just their second SEC series on the road against the surging LSU Tigers, head coach Jim Schlossnagle has to be at least somewhat worried about the team’s recent consistency issues at the plate, especially star outfielder Braden Montgomery’s four-game hitless streak before finally rebounding with two hits and a home run in the Aggies’ blowout win over Rice on Tuesday.
Around the rest of the conference, the Kentucky Wildcats rebounded winning last weekend’s series vs. Alabama, while Arkansas holds a slight one-game conference lead over the Aggies before the two face each other next weekend to finish out the regular season. Looking at yet another updated regional projections scheudle thanks to D1 Baseball, here is where Texas A&M currently stands among the top teams in college baseball heading into the offseason.
