DALLAS — Christmas is over and now it’s time to decide what to do with the tree.
There are plenty of places to take your real tree for recycling in North Texas. Here’s where you can take your tree after you remove all the decorations:
- In Dallas, you can take your tree to the McCommas Bluff Landfill at 5100 Youngblood Road, the Northwest Transfer Station at 9500 Harry Hines Boulevard, the Northeast Transfer Station at 7677 Fair Oaks Avenue or the Southwest Transfer Station at 4610 Westmoreland Road through Feb. 3. Bonton Farms, a nonprofit urban farm at 6911 Bexar Street, is taking trees through Jan.18 to repurpose as food for the goats at the farm and walking canes for neighbors in need.
- In Fort Worth, you can leave your tree at the curb by 7 a.m. on your designated trash pickup day.
- In Plano, you can drop off trees at Old Shepherd Place Park at 1301 Winding Hollow Lane, Russell Creek Park at 3500 McDermott Road or Schell Park at 2305 Laurel Lane through Jan. 2.
- In Grand Prairie, you can drop off your tree at IKEA at 1000 IKEA Way through Jan. 9 or the Grand Prairie Landfill at 1102 MacArthur Boulevard.
