Winning: RNC Victorious in Michigan Election Integrity Case

The Republican National Committee (RNC) filed suit against the Detroit, Michigan Election Commission in August, arguing that they violated the law by hiring over seven times more Democratic poll workers than Republicans for the 2024 election.

Michigan is a swing state, and its 15 electoral votes are critical to the presidential race, so every vote counts. RealClearPolitics shows an extremely tight contest, with Trump currently up by a mere point nine.

The RNC announced in an email Friday that they have prevailed in the matter:

The RNC, Michigan GOP, and chairs of Wayne County Republican committee have secured a major victory for election integrity in Michigan by working with the Election Commission of the City of Detroit. As a result, Detroit has agreed to changes in its processes and protocols for hiring at least one Republican poll worker in each location and an equal number of Republican poll workers, as nearly as possible, in each location for the November election.

RNC Chair Michael Whatley posted about it on social media:

As a result of our action, Detroit has now agreed to follow the law and hire Republican poll workers. A crucial win ahead of November 5th!

It’s not the only recent GOP victory in the Great Lakes State:

Michigan GOP Racks Up Major Absentee Ballot Victory, Avoids ‘Hanging Chad’ 2.0

In the RNC email, they explained the importance of the win:

Thanks to the efforts of the RNC and Michigan GOP, Detroit will now change its election processes so that Republican poll workers will be allocated to all voting locations and, as nearly as possible, an equal number of Republicans will be hired this November. This will bring much-needed transparency and accountability to Detroit’s election system and ensure that a more equal number of Republicans and Democrats work Detroit’s polls — our election integrity operation will continue to fight and win for our country’s most important election.

The RNC Election Integrity account also celebrated other recent positive developments in what they called a “big week”:

-Sued for poll worker parity in Georgia -Defended ballot safeguards in Ohio-Won mail ballot protections case in Michigan

23 days to victory!

As they note, there are less than three weeks left until election day! Get out and vote, folks.
