The Women’s White Collar Defense Association, or WWCDA, announced the launch of its Austin chapter on April 5, according to a press release. The second chapter to launch this year, Austin becomes WWCDA’s 48th chapter overall as the association continues to expand and elevate its presence across white collar law around the world.
Austin now joins Dallas and Houston as one of WWCDA’s three Texas chapters. Austin serves as the headquarters for a wide variety of state regulatory agencies, so it was the next logical location for WWCDA to establish.
“WWCDA is extremely proud of its continuous global growth,” said WWCDA Global Chair and Co-Founder Karen A. Popp in a press release. “Chapter launches showcase our organization’s commitment of promoting diversity across white collar law and uplifting women in law around the world, whether you are a seasoned attorney or consultant, or just entering the practice. WWCDA supports and provides opportunities for all women to succeed and grow their business.”
The Austin Chapter of WWCDA sponsors quarterly events for members and guests from other WWCDA chapters and other invited guests, such as speakers, focused discussion forums, social events, and other gatherings. The new chapter is committed to mentoring younger women attorneys and consultants in the white-collar defense and compliance field as well as enhancing business development opportunities for senior practitioners.
