‘You don’t know football’: Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs confronts WFAA’s Mike Leslie

WFAA’s Mike Leslie was critical of the cornerback’s play during a scoring drive by Niners tight end George Kittle. Diggs made his disdain known.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Dallas Cowboys were handed a 24-30 loss Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners win was largely secured in the 3rd quarter when the 49ers shredded through the Cowboys’ defense.

A key piece of that defense, cornerback Trevon Diggs, confronted WFAA sports reporter Mike Leslie, who was critical in a post on X of Diggs’ coverage during the first of three Niners’ touchdown drives in the 3rd quarter.

“What is Trevon Diggs doing on this play?” Leslie wrote on X.

That post, which seems to have Diggs seen, elicited a response from Diggs, who confronted Leslie in the tunnel.

“That’s what you took from that?” Diggs asked Leslie with several reporters present. “You don’t know football. You can’t do nothing that I do. You can’t go out there and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy.”

In a post to X, Leslie fully admitted he cannot do what Diggs does. Though, Diggs didn’t offer a response to his question.

Leslie let Diggs know he was willing to talk about the play and get his perspective, but Diggs walked off.

“We can talk about it more,” Leslie said as Diggs walked away.

“Talk about these nuts,” Diggs retorted.

Leslie wrote his own response on X.

After the interaction, Diggs did not speak to any other media outlets.

This is not the only clash with media members the Cowboys organization has faced in October. Earlier this month, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones threatened to fire radio hosts at 105.3 The Fan after questions about the team’s off-season.

The Dallas Cowboys now sit at 3-4 on the season.
