YouTube launches its first-ever personalized recap feature for users

YouTube has rolled out its debut year-end Recap, giving users a personalized breakdown of their top creators, interests and viewing habits for 2025.

WASHINGTON — For the first time ever, YouTube users can now check out a personalized year-end breakdown of what they watched most. The platform has launched YouTube Recap, giving viewers a slideshow of their top creators, interests, music and viewing habits based on their 2025 watch history.

Recap arrives as YouTube continues to celebrate its 20th anniversary and cements its role as a leading engine of pop culture trends.

“You aren’t just one thing, and neither is your watch history,” the company said in its announcement.

Recap cards may spotlight binge-worthy creators, niche rabbit holes, music tastes, or even assign users a “personality” based on viewing patterns, such as Adventurer, Skill Builder, Creative Spirit, Wonder Seeker or Connector.

YouTube says Recap will roll out to North America first, with global access launching throughout the week.

How to access your YouTube Recap

YouTube users can view their Recap in two places:

  • On the YouTube homepage (look for a banner or card)

  • Under the “You” tab on mobile or desktop

Eligible viewers will see up to 12 personalized cards, which may include their top creators and channels, top interests and genres, viewing habit trends, and a personality type based on watch behavior.

Users who spent time on YouTube Music can also see top artists, songs, podcasts and international listening habits.

YouTube Recap is also designed to be shareable, so users can save their cards and post them across social media.
