1 dead in shooting in southern Dallas, police say

 

Officers responded at approximately 4:25 a.m. Saturday to the 7200 block of Chaucer Place.

DALLAS — A man died Saturday morning after being shot in southern Dallas, police confirmed to WFAA. 

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 4:25 a.m. Saturday in the 7200 block of Chaucer Place. This is on the opposite side of U.S. 67 across from The Shops at RedBird in southern Dallas.

When officers got to the scene, the found a man had been shot in the street. Dallas Fire-Rescue also responded to the scene. 

Police said the man died from his injuries.

The victim’s identity was not known Saturday. Police said his identity would be confirmed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

There was no further information immediately available.
