HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – One of two men accused in the shooting of a 29-year-old Harris County deputy overnight was taken into custody on Thursday morning, authorities said.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office issued a Blue Alert in connection with the shooting in Northeast Houston.
James Green, 37, was apprehended by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers just before 10:30 a.m. Terran Green, 34, however, remains at-large.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the unidentified deputy was conducting a traffic stop near Norments Street when the shooting happened in the 13500 block of Homestead Road.
Authorities said earlier Thursday they located a blue 2016 Ford Escape with the Texas license plate number SVJ6590 that the pair was traveling in. But at the time the men had not been found.
Terran Green is described as being is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 180 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and wearing a gray shirt and black shorts. James Green is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 168 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
KPRC, KSAT12?s sister station, reports that the wounded deputy was taken to an area hospital by medical helicopter. The deputy is said to be in critical, but stable condition, at Memorial Hermann hospital.
Gov. Greg Abbott responded to the shooting on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said DPS special agents are deployed and responding to the case.
“We will not stop until the criminal is caught & brought to justice. Cecilia & I ask all Texans to join us in praying for the sheriff’s deputy & their family,” Abbott said.
Tonight, a Harris Co. Sheriff’s Deputy was shot in the line of duty.
