SAN ANTONIO – Two children were were taken to an area hospital following a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 southbound early Sunday morning, according to San Antonio police.
The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. in the 2800 block of I-10 South, on the lower level headed downtown.
According to police, a man and woman and their two children were in a Ford Explorer traveling southbound on I-10 West in the right lane of the lower level when a vehicle in the left lane veered into their path and struck the front left of the Ford Explorer. That’s when, police say, the man lost control of his vehicle and went across the right shoulder, crashing into the right concrete barrier wall.
Police said the two children, a 7-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, suffered minor head injuries and were taken by ambulance to an area children’s hospital. The parents were not harmed in the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle sped off and did not stop to render aid. That person has not been found. SAPD says the vehicle involved in the crash may be a light-grey-colored sedan.
When found, the driver of the unknown vehicle will be charged with failure to stop and render aid, police said.
