63-year-old man accused of striking woman with vehicle and backing over her before fleeing scene, officials say

The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries.

DALLAS — A 63-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run that seriously injured a woman last week, the Dallas Police Department announced.

William H. Walker is facing a third-degree felony charge of accident involving serious bodily injury, police said.

Police said they responded to the incident around 12:45 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Dawson Street, just south of the Deep Ellum area.

Walker is accused of hitting a woman with his SUV, stopping and then backing over her before leaving the scene.

The 55-year-old victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, Walker’s bond information has not been released.
