SAN ANTONIO – A man was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a physical altercation on the city’s West Side.
Armando Idrogo, 68, was arrested at 5 p.m. in the 700 block of Overhill in the Woodlawn Heights area after San Antonio police say he stabbed a 32-year-old victim.
Police said Idrogo and the victim have had altercations before and happened to run into each other Sunday, which led to a physical fight.
The victim was stabbed in the side of his body during the fight, according to police. That’s when police say the victim called 911 to report the stabbing.
Officers who responded to the scene were able to locate Idrogo, who was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Jail records show his bond was set at $75,000.
Idrogo has a lengthy criminal history that dates back to 1975 in Bexar County. Court records show he has prior arrests for burglary, theft and various drug charges.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition with a non-life-threatening injury.
