SAN ANTONIO – ‘Tis the season for tamales, fa la la la la la la la la — OK it’s not quite time yet, but you can still save the date for the San Antonio Tamale Festival.
The annual San Antonio Tamales Festival is returning on Dec. 3 at 7701 FM 1346.
Multiple tamale vendors will be participating in the festival, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“Last Year we had about 800-1200 people attend, from all ages,” said festival organizer Robert Reyes.
The festival is free but parking is $5 per vehicle. There are also a limited number of VIP parking spots that will be available for $10 each.
In addition to tamales, there will also be live entertainment at the pet-friendly festival.
“We will have Folklorico dancers, Mariachi Fuzion, DJs and karaoke to allow guest to show us their skills,” Reyes said.
San Antonio’s Tamale Festival is a rain or shine event.
Reyes also puts on the Roasted Corn (Elote) Festival, Enchilada Festival and the Tostada-Flautas Festival.
As a former vendor for the Tamales Festival that was previously hosted at The Pearl, Reyes said he was saddened when organizers stopped hosting the event.
“I wanted to pick up the baton,” Reyes previously told KSAT.
