EVERMAN, Texas — The Red Cross opened a shelter Sunday in Everman after rain caused heavy flooding in the area.
The shelter is located at the Everman Civic Center, 213 North Race St. The shelter will provide snacks, water, disaster assistance and other resources. The shelter is free and open to the public, residents only need to provide their name and where they were living before the disaster.
The shelter will also serve a meal at dinnertime.
Residents whose homes were damaged from rain or flooding can call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to see if they are eligible for Red Cross assistance if they cannot make it to the shelter in person.
