Body found in Richardson creek ‘in advanced state of decomposition,’ police say

 

Police said a witness reported seeing a body in a creek in a heavily wooded area.

RICHARDSON, Texas — A body was found in a creek in Richardson on Monday, police said.

Police received a report around 4:45 p.m. Monday about a deceased person in the 2800 block of North Glenville Drive , near Lookout Drive off U.S. 75, according to a news release.

Police said a witness reported seeing a body in a creek in a heavily wooded area. Officers responded and found the body “in an advanced state of decomposition,” the release said.

Police said there was no indication of criminal activity, but detective and crime scene crews are investigating. The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office is also helping in the investigation. The identity of the person who was found has not been determined yet.
