BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Texas A&M football team wrapped up spring practices with the annual Maroon and White game on Saturday.
Purdue transfer and former Bryan Viking Nic Scourton showed how he could make a huge impact for the Aggies this year. The defensive end stood out in the spring game with 7 tackles (3.5 for loss) and a couple of sacks.
”He’s a troublemaker that’s for sure,” laughed A&M offensive lineman Mark Nabou about teammate Nic Scourton. :He has high energy at practice, and high energy during the scrimmage. We actually love going against him. He really gives us a good look. He finds our weaknesses and we try to improve on that,” Nabou added.
“The sky’s the limit with this group pass rush package-wise,” explained Scourton. “We can mix it up and have four inside linebackers there. Even our interior line has high motors and slimmer guys that I’ve played with. The sky’s the limit for our pass rush packages,” Scourton added.
Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko also chimed in on the talent the Aggies have on the line. “When we line up Nic Scourton on one side and Shemart Stweart on the other, I think we have the best defensive end combo that we’ve had here in a long time,” Elko stated.
Scourton and the Aggies will open up the season on August 31st at home against Notre Dame.
