Dallas police arrest suspect tied to fatal shooting

The store clerk and a bystander were shot during a fight in the parking lot with the suspect, according to DPD.

DALLAS — Dallas police have arrested one suspect after searching for the suspect and a woman connected to a robbery that led to a fatal shooting on Dec. 30. 

DPD said officers responded at approximately 12:20 a.m. to the 11300 block of Emerald Street for a call about a robbery in progress. DPD said its preliminary investigation determined that an unknown male shot two men.

The store clerk and a bystander were shot during a fight in the parking lot with the suspect, according to DPD.

The suspect and a woman (pictured below) left the location together on foot, DPD said. The Dallas Police Department was asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect and woman.

On Dec. 31, Dallas Police said 18-year-old Kauren Mayo was arrested and charged with murder. 

Police said both victims were transported to a local hospital, where one of them died from his injuries and the other remained in critical condition.
