Tax season is under way. Here are some tips to navigate it.

According to a news release, the two federal agencies wrote, “Fighting white collar crime is a team effort. As tax season begins, the U.S. Attorneys from all four districts in Texas, along with CI’s Houston and Dallas field offices will announce their initiatives to thwart the criminals that steal from our nation’s programs and taxpayers, along with discussing efforts to protect individuals from becoming unwitting parts of those crimes.”

The IRS named Monday as the official start date of the 2024 tax season, and it expects more than 128.7 million tax returns to be filed by the April 15 tax deadline. This came as the agency underwent a big overhaul utilizing the billions of dollars directed to the agency through the Inflation Reduction Act signed into law in 2022.
