Joe Biden has said that he’s not stepping out of the 2024 race, despite the roiling scandal of his cognitive decline.
We’ve seen Democratic politicians now even saying he must step aside, including Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) and Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ). There was also a report about 25 House Democrats who were supposedly considering writing a formal letter to Biden asking him to get out as well.

Biden might be able to survive a push from some politicians but the problem is the donors are also pushing as well. As I already reported, one top Democrat donor Whitney has already called on him to step aside and give younger candidates a chance. He also ripped Biden and his people for “deceiving the American people.”

Now more donors appear to be jumping on board that train, including heiress Abigail Disney.
“I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket. This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high,” Abigail Disney said in a lengthy statement to CNBC. “If Biden does not step down the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.”
Disney proposed Kamala Harris and basically suggested some Democrats would be racist and/or sexist if they weren’t for her.
“We have an excellent Vice President. If Democrats would tolerate any of her perceived shortcomings even one tenth as much as they have tolerated Biden’s (and let’s not kid ourselves about where race and gender figure in that inequity) and if Democrats can find a way to stop quibbling and rally around her, we can win this election by a lot,” Disney said.

Gideon Stein, the president of the Moriah Fund, said he was going to pause the $3.5 he had earmarked for various organizations related to the presidential race.
“Joe Biden has been a very effective president, but unless he steps aside my family and I are pausing on more than $3 million in planned donations to nonprofits and political organizations aligned with the presidential race, with the exception of some down ballot work,” Stein said. “Virtually every major donor I’ve talked to believes that we need a new candidate in order to defeat Donald Trump.”
The CNBC article also suggested that Karla Jurvetson was considering the same approach according to a person familiar with her remarks. She gave Democrats $30,000 in 2020.
The problem that these guys have?
Kamala is as unpopular as Joe Biden and polls like the recent CNN poll that came out this week say Harris loses as well when facing former President Donald Trump, as do the other names who are often bandied about as possible replacements.

Trump beats Harris by two, California Gov. Gavin Newsom by five, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg by four, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer by five.
While politicians might not influence Biden, donors may, if the wave becomes big enough. Money makes the campaign go, without it, you’re cooked. So whether it forces him out or it withholds money from him, either way, they’re sending a big message that he’s up a creek without a paddle.
