El Paso District Attorney to address dismissal of 200 migrant riot cases

   

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso District Attorney Bill Hicks will hold a press conference Thursday afternoon on the recent decision of the riot involving migrants.

According to the El Paso Times, a judge dismissed more than 200 cases in connection to the border riot that happened at the border wall in March.

About 214 migrants were arrested and charged by Texas DPS on March 21 after they breached the concertina wire and ambushed Texas National Guard troops when trying to enter the country illegally at the border gate in the Lower Valley.

The group consisted of adult males and females from Venezuela, Guatemala, Ecuador, Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador.

Hicks will hold his press conference at 3 p.m.
