Four men arrested for kidnapping teen for ransom on San Antonio’s Northwest Side, police say

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police arrested four men on Wednesday who are accused of kidnapping a teenager for ransom.

Froilan Guzman-Velasquez, 30, Erik Gonzales-Lopez, 18, Randy Lopez-Benitez, 23, and Hector Manue Lopez-Najera, 23, are charged with aggravated kidnapping.

Each is being held in the Bexar County Jail on a bond of $150,000.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Bandera Road just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday for a reported kidnapping. A family member told police they had received a call that their 17-year-old relative had been taken. The caller demanded money and said the victim would be harmed if the relative didn’t comply.

The relative told police that they noticed the victim had gone outside and never returned.

The victim was recovered safely about four hours later. He did not have any major injuries, police said.

Police were informed that the suspects were near West Martin and North Zarzamora. Officers arrested all four men at that location.

Police said the men were charged after they were interviewed at SAPD headquarters.
