BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Carson Jeffrey, a Texas A&M graduate, cowboy, rancher, and now recording artist, is making a name for himself in music. He joined KBTX First News at Four as our Free Music Friday guest.

Jeffrey said his interest in music piqued while attending Texas A&M University.
“I’ve always played guitar and sang around the house and stuff, but then came up here in the little music scene that’s in this town,” Jeffrey explained. “I’ve just started getting more and more interested. Actually, we were playing a night at Harry’s . I was standing there in the crowd and I was like, ‘I can do this.’”
The song he played, Rope the Moon, was inspired by the aesthetic of cowboys.
Jeffrey performed the song for Free Music Friday:
“I just had the idea of, like, the whole rope the moon thing- just the whole cowboy feel of it, and you know, kind of always seeing some pictures and stuff in the western art and of roping the moon. I’m an idea writer,” said Jeffrey.
To begin his Tailgates & Tallboys Tour, Jeffrey is playing at Hurricane Harry’s Friday night at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15.
