Grahovac, LaViolette Receive Invite from Team USA

CARY, N.C. – Texas A&M’s Gavin Grahovac and Jace LaViolette have earned an invite to the 2024 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp.

The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp will feature 56 of the premier non-draft-eligible college players for a two-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series in North Carolina on June 26 and 27. USA Baseball will name the final Collegiate National Team–inclusive of an International Friendship Series roster and a Summer League Tour roster–following Training Camp on June 29.

Should the duo earn a roster spot, they would become the 34th and 35th Team USA selections in program history. The Aggies are one of only seven programs in the country to have received at least 30 all-time selections to Team USA.

Grahovac is in the midst of a stellar rookie campaign for the Maroon & White, slashing .338/.428/.667 to go along with 13 doubles, 18 home runs, 26 walks and 57 RBI. The two-time SEC Freshman of the Week has also logged 20 multi-hit and 14 multi-RBI performances in 48 games this season. Among the SEC, Grahovac ranks third in runs (65), fourth in runs per game (1.35), fourth in RBI, fifth in RBI per game (1.19), fifth in hits (69) and eighth in total bases (136).

LaViolette, who was a member of the 2023 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, has put together yet another strong season in the Maroon & White. The sophomore has started all 49 games and is slashing .326/.461/.842 to go along with three triples, 14 doubles, 26 homers, 43 walks and 67 RBI. The Katy, Texas, native became the first Aggie to record 20-plus homers in back-to-back seasons and his season total of 26 ranks second all-time in program history.

Nationally, the sophomore ranks fourth in homers, fourth in runs scored (72), fourth in total bases (160), eighth in slugging (.842) and 26th in walks (43). In the SEC, LaViolette sits inside the Top 5 in 10 different statistical categories. On the year, LaViolette has recorded 18 multi-hit, 18 multi-RBI and six multi-homer performances.

Both Training Camp games will be played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, on June 26 and 27. First pitch of both games will be at 6:35 p.m. ET. The International Friendship Series roster will then take on Chinese Taipei in a five-game series, while the Summer League Tour roster will take on select teams from the Appalachian League and the Coastal Plain League in a four-game slate. The schedule will culminate with a Fourth of July matchup between the two U.S. Collegiate National Team rosters on July 4 in Fayetteville, N.C.
