SAN ANTONIO – UPDATE 12/18 8:25 a.m.:
Alamo Heights, North East, Northside and Judson independent school districts confirmed to KSAT that their respective internet and phone services were back online on Wednesday morning.

Julie Ann with Alamo Heights ISD said, “Internet service has been restored.”
Aubrey Chancellor with NEISD said, “Our internet is restored.”
Nicole Taguinod with Judson ISD sent the following statement:
“We have been notified that the fiber cuts affecting internet connection around the state have been repaired. Our services are restored, and we should be fully up and running.”
According to Barry Perez with Northside ISD, as of late Tuesday, internet and phone services have come back online.
“Our tech team monitored through the night and this morning we continue to have service,” he said.

Several school districts in San Antonio and Austin are currently without internet connection.
Texas Education Service Center, Region 20, which serves schools in Bexar County and surrounding counties, said it is “experiencing and [sic] interruption to our Internet services” and phone service is limited.
“This outage impacts Fiber 20 clients. Please excuse the inconvenience,” a statement on its website reads.
Zayo is the internet service provider. The company’s senior corporate communications manager, Bree Woods, told KSAT that Zayo is aware of the issue.
“Zayo is aware of the situation impacting school districts in Region 20. We have crews on-site and are working to restore service as soon as possible,” the statement read.
NEISD
The spokesperson for North East ISD confirmed to KSAT on Tuesday afternoon that the internet outage was district-wide.
According to NEISD spokesperson Aubrey Chancellor, a major fiber line was cut, causing the district to lose internet access.
As far as a time frame for the repair to be completed, Chancellor said the provider, Zayo, has not issued one.
Judson ISD
The Judson Independent School District took to its Facebook page to inform the public that it is dealing with an internet outage.

NISD
Barry Perez with Northside ISD also told KSAT that the internet outage is affecting its campuses.
He said the district has set up emergency phone lines for NISD schools through the district’s website and that no other disruptions are being experienced at this time.
Alamo Heights ISD
According to Julie Ann Matonis, the director of communications for Alamo Heights ISD, the district lost internet service around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday but said the phone system remained working.
Comal ISD
Salwa Lanford, the communications specialist with Comal ISD, said the outage affected all of the district’s campuses and support services office but said 911 emergency calling was available.
KSAT has reached out to ESC Region 20 for more information on the internet outage and to find out how many school districts in its service area are affected.
