SAN ANTONIO – A portion of Interstate 10 on the Northwest Side is closed due to a major accident on Monday afternoon.
San Antonio police said the eastbound lanes near Woodlawn Avenue and Culebra Road are closed. They are expected to remain closed for the next few hours.
Details about the accident are unknown, but San Antonio firefighters reported it as a vehicle extraction.
Images from the scene showed that the crash involved an 18-wheeler and at least one other vehicle.
SAPD is asking drivers to find an alternate route.
“Please remember to allow yourself extra time to arrive to your destination safely, under raining weather conditions,” SAPD said in a Facebook post.
