She was a classic beauty, and the picture of her First Communion remains etched in the minds of the public.

Jacklyn Cazares, 9, was born June 10, 2012, in Uvalde, Texas. Her father, Javier Cazares, said she was full of life.

“She was like any other 9-year-old girl. Full of life, love, happiness…[she was] a firecracker,” he said.

Jacklyn had a brother and sister. But even among the trio, she always stood out.

“She had a sparkling personality, very giving, big-hearted,” Javier Cazares said.

Jacklyn also loved animals. Her dream was to be a veterinarian.

She was also very loving and affectionate. Javier Cazares said Jacklyn loved to hug people.

“She touched a lot of people…just with her hugs…you can tell how much she loved somebody. That’s the one thing I don’t want anybody to forget.”
