In emails obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, the office of Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry deleted each of the identities and emails of their staff members. Underneath the FOIA exception (b)(6) for “personal private information,” the redactions were made. In an email that Protect the Public’s Trust obtained, suggestions are requested for a 2022 “finance pizza party.” The emails were edited to remove the identities and email addresses of the sender and receivers. Why the names of federal employees, who are compensated with tax cash, were censored is unknown.
