Lanes on Interstate 10 on East Side reopen following two wrecks in opposite directions

SAN ANTONIO – Two wrecks on the east- and westbound lanes of Interstate 10 on the East Side closed all lanes of the highway on Wednesday morning.

The Texas Department of Transportation says a jackknifed big rig caused the closure of the westbound lanes of I-10, near FM 1518 and west of Loop 1604. Another crash was reported in the eastbound lanes near that same intersection.

A TxDOT map shows traffic in both lanes is backed up as authorities investigate the wrecks.

TxDOT did not say when they expect the lanes to reopen.

KSAT has a crew headed to the scene. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
