KERRVILLE, Texas – A Kerrville man got into an argument with another man in a Walmart parking lot and attacked him with a knife for loudly revving his car’s engine, according to Kerrville police.
Not long after the incident, the armed man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The charge stems from Wednesday afternoon when the fight broke out in the parking lot of a Walmart store located at 1216 Junction Highway in Kerrville.
Police were initially called to an area emergency room to speak with the stabbing victim, a 30-year-old man.
The man told officers he was involved in a fight with another person in the parking lot after being confronted about loudly revving his car’s engine.
The situation escalated when the suspect pulled a knife and injured the 30-year-old man, causing lacerations on his face and head that were not life-threatening, police said.
The victim also provided police with information about the suspect’s identity.
Officers then went to the Walmart store shortly after, where the suspect sleeps in a camper in the parking lot.
According to KPD, there were blood and “signs of a struggle consistent with the victim’s account” in the area.
The suspect was later identified as Charles Frank Ottesen, 55. Police said he returned to the scene of the fight and spoke with detectives before he was arrested.
Ottesen is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He’s being held in the Kerr County Jail, pending bond.
