Man linked to multiple aggravated robberies in one hour on Northwest Side, police say

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man was arrested after he was linked to aggravated robberies on the Northwest Side last month.

Bexar County Jail records show Felipe DeJesus Tijerina, 36, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

An arrest warrant affidavit states that three robberies were reported to police within one hour on the evening of Aug. 10 near the intersection of Loop 410 and Bandera Road.

The details of the male suspect and his method matched in all three incidents, police said.

One victim told police that he was sitting in his car in the 6000 block of NW Loop 410 and saw the suspect, later identified as Tijerina, drive by his vehicle twice and park nearby.

The suspect then approached the victim’s vehicle, pointed a gun at him and demanded his belongings, the affidavit states.

The victim said he didn’t have anything on him and the suspect searched him. The suspect then struck the victim with an open hand, knocking him on his back, police said.

In another incident, Tijerina robbed another man as he was unloading items from the back of his vehicle in the 7300 block of Callaghan Road, an affidavit states. The man was robbed of his cell phone, and the phone was later found discarded in a grassy field.

Surveillance video captured the suspect and the suspect vehicle, which was stolen out of another city, the affidavit states.

Police were able to identify the suspect based on fingerprints from the phone and receipts found in the vehicle, the affidavit states.
