Man shot while confronting 3 people breaking into his vehicle; suspects on the run, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – A 28-year-old man is in the hospital after being shot while confronting three people who were breaking into his vehicle early Sunday morning, according to San Antonio police.

The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the 4600 block of Clark Avenue, not far from Hot Wells Boulevard and Goliad Road on the city’s Southeast Side.

According to police, officers arrived to find the man with a gunshot wound to his chest. The man was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he’s currently listed in critical condition.

Police said the man was shot while confronting three unknown men who were breaking into his vehicle. The men fled in the vehicle, which was later recovered unoccupied by officers. The three men have not been found.

SAPD did not release a description of the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
