‘Please send help’ Luka Doncic mural pops up in Dallas

The mural features Doncic holding up a sign that reads “please send help” with a handful of his legendary stat lines from the 2022-23 season.

DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is having a legendary season, throwing out triple-doubles willy-nilly and cementing his name in the record books with the likes of Hall of Famers seemingly on a monthly basis (remember that first-ever 60-20-10 triple double in NBA history?).

Mavs fans, however, have grown tired of needing Doncic to drop 30- or 40-point triple-doubles in order for Dallas to win games. And now, a mural in Deep Ellum is illustrating those feelings.

The House of Pannek – Preston and Adrienne Pannek – put together a mural of Doncic on the side of St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin, which shows the Slovenian star holding up a sign that reads “please send help,” along with four of his recent, ridiculous stat lines:

Jan. 10: 43 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists against the Los Angeles Clippers (loss)Dec. 31, 2022: 51 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists against the San Antonio Spurs (win, by one point: 126-125)Dec. 27, 2022: 60 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists against the New York Knicks (win, in overtime, overcoming nine-point deficit in last 33 seconds of regulation)Dec. 23, 2022: 50 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists against the Houston Rockets (win)

Doncic leads the NBA in points per game (36.1), is top 20 in rebounds per game (9.0) and fourth in assists per game (8.8). Doncic’s numbers awarded him the Western Conference Player of the Month in December.

And after his 35-14-13 stat line in a double overtime win against the Los Angeles Lakers, which needed two Doncic stepback threes to keep the game alive, ESPN Stats and Info reported Doncic was first player to average 40 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists over a 10-game span in NBA history.

Dallas is 0-4 this season without Doncic in the lineup:

Jan. 8: 120-109 loss to the Oklahoma City ThunderDec. 17: 100-99 loss to the Cleveland CavaliersDec. 10: 144-115 loss to the Chicago BullsNov. 16: 101-92 loss to the Houston Rockets
