SAN ANTONIO – Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month, San Antonio International Airport is featuring the works of two Mexican-born artists that convey a deep passion for cultural heritage.
Luz Serreli and TT Zarzar’s paintings reflect the importance of cultural identity from past to present.
“Our Galleries at the San Antonio International Airport are showcasing the collections of two notable female artists,” said Arts and Culture Manager of the San Antonio International Airport, Matt Evans. “Their works have messages that represent their authentic culture and heritage.”
Serreli’s paintings, “Flowers for Janet Sobel,” showcase gratitude towards Ukrainian-born American Abstract Expressionist Janet Sobel, who was inspired by her journey through life as a mother, wife, and immigrant throughout the 1900?s.
TT Zarzar’s collection, “On Pause,” displays the struggles that come with connecting to one’s cultural identity amid the fast-paced chaos that makes up the world today.
The art exhibits will be displayed along Terminal A’s Security Checkpoint lines and in Terminal A’s Baggage Claim through the end of 2022, according to a news release.
