SAN ANTONIO – A man who San Antonio police say stole a bicycle from a North Side Target was arrested after he turned himself in.
Guillermo Lozano, 36, was charged with robbery following the incident on Sept. 12 at the store in the 700 block of NW Loop 410, near Blanco Road, records with the Bexar County Jail show.
A Target employee told police that he saw Lozano remove a bicycle from a sales rack and start to inflate the tires, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The employee confronted Lozano and said he was not allowed to inflate the tires in the store. Lozano then pushed the bicycle to the main doors and left, police said.
When the employee tried to stop him, Lozano showed a pepper spray can and threatened to spray him, police said.
On Oct. 21, the suspect went to the store and said he wanted to turn himself in, the affidavit states. Officers were dispatched to the store but because he was free of active warrants, he was released at the scene, according to the affidavit.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on Oct. 24. He was booked on Tuesday, and his bond is set at $60,000.
Records show he is facing previous, unrelated charges of theft and failure to identify himself.
