SAPD: Motorcyclist loses control at race, crashes

SAN ANTONIO – Two motorcyclists have been hospitalized after losing control during a race Saturday and sliding across multiple lanes.

At 11:15 a.m., during a race on Babcock Road, a motorcyclist driving a Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slid across two lanes, according to San Antonio Police.

The driver of the Yamaha struck another motorcyclist in a Suzuki motorcycle, causing the second driver to lose control and slide on the roadway.

Upon the arrival of authorities, the first driver was found unconscious with life-threatening injuries.

Both 24-year-old men have been transported to an area hospital for treatment. According to SAPD, the second driver is in stable condition, while the first driver is in critical condition.

This case remains under investigation.
