Recognizing the members of Buddha’s Light International Association on the occasion of the 2025 North America Fellowship Meeting.
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Buddha’s Light International Association and to honor
its 2025 North America Fellowship Meeting, which is taking place
in Austin from April 18 to 20, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Buddha’s Light International Association was
organized by Buddhist believers in Taiwan in 1991 as China Buddha
Light Association, and it has since expanded to include chapters
in more than 100 countries across five continents and a global
membership exceeding one million individuals; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious fellowship event is being hosted
by the Austin, Houston, and Dallas chapters of the organization,
and it marks the first time the event will occur in Austin; it
will include special celebrations and activities to foster
cross-cultural understanding and promote peace, harmony, and
equality in society; and
WHEREAS, The theme of this year’s North American
Fellowship Meeting is coexistence and coprosperity; the
gathering offers members an opportunity to advocate
environmental preservation, to enrich their communities through
service, to participate in causes that benefit others, and to
emphasize the organization’s legacy of faith; and
WHEREAS, Through its initiatives, Buddha’s Light
International Association is dedicated to advancing humanitarian
efforts, social harmony, and cultural exchange, and the 2025
fellowship event is truly a fitting opportunity for members to
celebrate their heritage and faith traditions and to promote an
example of unity throughout the Lone Star State and across the
world; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby recognize the members of Buddha’s Light
International Association on the occasion of the 2025 North
America Fellowship Meeting and extend to all in attendance
sincere best wishes for a rewarding and memorable event and visit
to Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas
Senate.
