Texas Children’s Hospital announces its first leap day baby

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas Children’s Hospital is celebrating its first leap year baby born on Thursday morning.

The pediatric hospital system announced Aaron McAdams was born just after 6:30 a.m. weighing eight pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long.

Texas Children’s went on to say Aaron isn’t the only baby born on leap day for the hospital system and others are getting ready for their photo op.

Texas Children’s shared that being born on a leap day is the rarest of birthdays, with only a 1 in 1,461 chance. Those born on this special day are also called “leaplings.”

Congrats to this Texas family!
