A third suspect has been arrested in the aggravated robbery of two people at a Southtown-area hotel in May.
Mark Cruz, 33, was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, booking records with the Bexar County Jail show. His bond is set at $100,000.
His co-defendants, 34-year-old Andrew Levine and 42-year-old Adam Villarreal, were previously arrested on the same charges, according to San Antonio police.
An arrest warrant affidavit states that on May 30, a couple was robbed while staying at the Inn at Market Square in the 1500 block of Interstate 35 South, near West Cevallos.
Police said that Levine knocked on the couple’s door, and the male victim opened the door because he recognized Levine.
The suspects forced their way inside and struck the male victim in the face with a gun, the affidavit states.
The male victim left the room and ran toward the motel office to call the police, and the suspects remained in the room with the female victim.
The suspects stole the couple’s construction tools, car keys, cellphone and tablet before fleeing the scene, police said.
Levine and Villarreal were identified after the incident and were arrested on June 9 and Aug. 5, respectively, records show.
Interviews with the suspects led to Cruz’s arrest.
