Former Attorney General Bill Barr hasn’t always been a fan of former President Donald Trump. Nor has Trump always been a fan of Barr, thinking that Barr should have done more to look into questions of voter fraud, among other things.

But Barr got down to brass tacks when it came to who he was going to support in 2024 in the presidential race this past week, saying it was a “binary choice” between Trump and Biden, and there wasn’t any question as to who the right choice should be in this race.
Barr said he supported Trump because of the importance of deregulation, crime, law and order, restoring control over our borders, rebuilding our defense, and standing by our allies. He said he trusted Trump more on all of those issues than Biden and Republicans had to win in November to prevent further damage from the left.
Fox’s Larry Kudlow asked Barr about the former Biden DOJ official Matthew Colangelo, who was now involved in the case against Trump in New York. B arr demurred on giving a definitive statement about Colangelo, but then he blasted the pursuit of Trump in the hush money case, calling it a “stain on the criminal justice process.” “This is a case of going after the man, not the crime. There is no crime here,” Barr said. “Hush money is not a crime…They’re trying to interfere in the election.”

Barr also said in another Fox interview, “‘The real danger to the country, the real danger to democracy is the progressive agenda” and that “continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide.” That’s most certainly true now. But, of course, that was always the danger, even back in 2020, something Barr should have been out front on at the time.
Trump posted about Barr’s endorsement, and it’s vintage humorous Trump, reflecting on his prior comments about Barr, how Barr had let him down in the past and thanking him for his statement.

Bill Barr, who let a lot of great people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him ‘Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy’ (New York Post!). Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word “Lethargic” from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!”

You can never doubt Trump is behind his social media statements — you can always tell it’s him. He says what he wants, unlike Joe Biden, who seems wholly scripted and controlled when he’s not being incoherent and lying his head off. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and many others loved Trump’s sense of humor.
