Two injured in drive-by shooting, Dallas police say

Dallas PD says officers were called to a shooting along the 520 block of Bonnie View Road near Cedar Crest Golf Course Thursday evening.

DALLAS — Two teenagers were hospitalized Thursday after they were injured in a drive-by shooting, a Dallas police source told WFAA.

Dallas police say officers were called to a shooting along the 520 block of Bonnie View Road near Cedar Crest Golf Course Thursday evening. That’s about a mile away from Roosevelt High School in Dallas.

A football coach at Roosevelt High School told WFAA he was driving two players home from practice when someone pulled alongside their vehicle and started shooting. Coach Terrence Lowery told WFAA he immediately turned around and headed back to the school.

Lowery said the player sitting in the passenger seat was shot in the back of the arm and shoulder, and the player sitting in the backseat was shot in the neck. Lowery was not injured but shaken up saying a bullet went through one of the headrests.

Lowery confirmed to WFAA that both players are sophomores at the school.

The teens were taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition and expected to be OK, police said.

This is a developing story and WFAA will update this story once more information becomes available.
