Why did you join the TYLA board? I joined the TYLA board after serving my local bar association and feeling a need to help my profession. Bringing that knowledge of what local bars need and striving to make the practice more inclusive and serving of all is what drives my commitment to TYLA.
What advice would you give to other TYLA members who are looking for ways to grow professionally? Reach out, offer a hand, join your local bars! The practice of law is ever-changing and can feel isolating at times. Grow your community with one another and help make this profession be as great as we all know it can be.
Before joining the TYLA board, what is your favorite experience with community or public service? I have always loved serving my community, and it is why I chose to practice law in my hometown of Laredo. This is the village that made me who I am, and I wanted to give back to it and help make it better. As attorneys, we are advocates and leaders, and we must always put our communities and their needs first.
What was your favorite movie, TV show, musical artist, or song from high school/college? Is it cliche for me to say Legally Blonde? If it is, I object!
