VIDEO: Meet California Senate District 24 Candidate Kristina Irwin

Against all odds, Kristina Irwin is on the November election ballot competing to win a seat in the California State Senate. She was a write-in vote in the primary against an incumbent who was running unopposed.

Irwin says she was called to action after seeing the material being taught to her children remotely during the COVID lockdown. She did not agree with the politicized material and wants to do something about it. She is not a fan of Sacramento’s partisan supermajority and wants to broaden the range of opinions contributing to making the state’s laws.

Other issues Irwin hopes to affect in the State Senate include state policies on homelessness, water, law and order, and transportation. She hopes to bring a more open-door approach to serve the full diversity of the 24th district, which was redistricted in 2020 and now encompasses a vast area of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties that stretches from Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, and Torrance through Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu, and Parkway Calabasas in the North, as well as inland to Beverly Hills.
