SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Pets Alive! is offering a discount for anyone who adopts a big dog this weekend.
The “We Like Big Mutts” special will offer potential new owners the option to adopt any dog weighing more than 35 pounds for just $10.
“We Like Big Mutts” will take place Saturday and Sunday at all San Antonio Pets Alive! locations.

“San Antonio Pets Alive!’s larger dogs need families too! We hope this special encourages members of our community to come out and adopt a pet so we can continue to help save other dogs at-risk of euthanasia at our city shelter,” officials with the shelter said.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a last-chance rescue organization that takes in animals that are at risk of euthanasia at San Antonio’s Animal Care Services.
San Antonio Pets Alive! has issued a “Code Red” several times throughout the summer — meaning that 25 or more dogs and puppies were to be released by Animal Care Services for possible euthanasia due to lack of space.
San Antonio Pets Alive! shelters were often too full to take in any more pets.
