SAN ANTONIO – The first official weekend of fall didn’t feel much like it, with muggy mornings leading in hot and humid afternoons. A “cold” front will aim to change that this week, as drier air arrives and filters a little taste of fall into South Central Texas.
As of Sunday evening, the aforementioned front is currently draped across North Texas. The boundary will continue to slide southbound Sunday night, arriving in the San Antonio area early Monday morning.

As it does so, it will shove out the bulk of the humidity that we’ve had on hand this past week, and potentially spark up a few showers in the Hill Country before the sun comes up Monday. Overall the chance is about 20% west of San Antonio, with a stray 10% chance that a spot of rain develops around town. As the front continues to work through the area, a few showers can’t be ruled out in our southern counties and near the Rio Grande by the afternoon hours, but overall coverage should also be pretty isolated and limited.
As winds flip in from the north following the passage of the boundary, Monday is expected to be breezy at times with wind gusts upwards of 20-25 mph possible in spots. That northerly wind shift will filter in the drier air that will make for a more comfortable feel through the remainder of the work week.
Before lower humidity values fully settle into South Central Texas, we’ll wake up to upper 60s and low 70s Monday morning. Thermometers will then rebound into the low-to-mid 90s for most by Monday afternoon, but at least heat indices shouldn’t be much of an issue by that point for most!

After Monday, morning lows will be able to cool down into the 60s through the remainder of the work week, followed by highs around 90? each afternoon with plenty of sunshine.
